Father Joel
Student Short Film · 2025
Producer
When a church’s missing donations point back to him, a weary priest must confront the private vices that make his public role increasingly difficult to uphold.
Father Joel spends his days listening to the sins of others while quietly avoiding his own. When donations from a Friday service go missing, his carefully maintained authority begins to crack, and a series of confessions forces him to hear uncomfortable echoes of himself in the people seeking guidance. Darkly comic and quietly reflective, Father Joel explores hypocrisy, guilt, and the uneasy distance between offering forgiveness and believing you deserve it.
